Bicycle Rental Terms and Conditions

HIRE CONDITIONS

No Refunds for Early Returns, Late Pickups, or Down Payments:

1. We do not offer refunds for early returns or late pickups, as resources are allocated and reserved once a rental period is booked. Additionally, down payments are non-refundable to ensure commitment and cover administrative costs. Refunds are also not provided for cancellations due to weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control. However, customers may receive a refund with a minimum of 14 days’ notice prior to the rental start date.
2. Please ensure that the equipment is returned to the Ride store or made ready for pickup from the specified accommodation at the agreed-upon time. In the event of late returns, an hourly charge of $10 will apply until the equipment is returned.
3. The hirer is responsible for taking good care of the items rented from Ride. This includes helmets, locks, and any other accessories provided with the bike. If you encounter a puncture, there’s a repair fee of $29 plus a $10 call-out fee. Additionally, please note that damage caused by misuse or riding in conditions not suitable for the bike, such as saltwater exposure, may incur repair or replacement costs, which will be charged to your credit card.
4. Once you take the bike, it’s yours to care for. For added security, we suggest using a lock whenever it’s not in sight. Please remember that if anything happens to the bike or its accessories, such as theft, we may need to charge the replacement cost to your credit card.

TERMS & LIABILITY

1. I agree that in this release, “The Activity” means the hire of equipment that I am obtaining from Ride Rarotonga.
2. I understand that participating in this ‘Activity’ carries inherent risks that may result in injury or property loss for myself or others. Despite this, I choose to participate and accept full responsibility for my own safety.
3. I agree not to hold Ride Rarotonga, its officers, employees, or agents liable for any claims arising from my participation in the Activity. This includes injuries or losses suffered by myself or others, as well as any damage to my or others’ property, regardless of how the injury, loss, or damage occurs.
4. I acknowledge that the way I and others in my party engage in the Activity will impact the associated risks, and Ride Rarotonga cannot control this. I commit to using the equipment safely and appropriately. Prior to the Activity, I have inspected the equipment intended for use and confirm it is in good condition and suitable for the Activity.
5. I indemnify Ride Rarotonga against all claims, damages or losses (including costs), which incurs as the direct or indirect result of my taking part in the Activity, including costs of enforcing this release.
6. I am physically fit and there is no health or other reason why I should not participate in the Activity.
7. I agree that the laws of the Cook Islands apply. I agree that this release is binding on my family, my heirs, my legal assigns and my administrators and executors. I am 18 years of age or older. I have fully read and understood this release before accepting.

Optional Insurance

For just $2 a day, you can enjoy the peace of mind offered by Ride Rarotonga insurance. Our policy covers theft of securely locked bicycles and accidental damage, including puncture repairs. However, please note that deliberate or careless use, such as saltwater damage, as well as theft of bikes not secured with the provided lock, are not covered and will be subject to charges according to our terms and conditions.,
